🗳️ Jubilee Hills Bye-Election: All Set for Counting on Friday Amidst Tight Security; Section 144 Imposed

HYDERABAD, NOVEMBER 13: All arrangements have been finalized for the counting of votes for the crucial Jubilee Hills Assembly Constituency Bye-Election, with the process set to begin at 8:00 AM on Friday, November 14.
District Election Officer and GHMC Commissioner R.V. Karnan confirmed the preparations at a media briefing held at the Kotla Vijayabhaskar Reddy Indoor Stadium in Yousufguda, which also serves as the counting center.
The Counting Process
Addressing the media, Commissioner Karnan detailed the elaborate measures taken to ensure a smooth and transparent count.

  • The counting will commence sharply at 8:00 AM, starting with the Postal Ballots, followed immediately by the EVM votes.
  • A total of 59 candidates, including the NOTA option, are in the fray.
  • Given the high number of candidates, special permission was obtained from the Election Commission of India (ECI) to set up 42 counting tables.
  • The entire counting process is expected to be completed in a maximum of 10 rounds.
“A total of 186 personnel, including Counting Supervisors, Counting Assistants, and Micro-Observers, have been deployed,” Karnan stated. He added that the entire process will be monitored by General Observers and ECI-appointed teams.
To ensure transparency, live updates will be provided on LED screens at the venue and through the official ECI app.
Elaborate Security, Section 144 in Force
Joint Commissioner of Police, Tofseer Iqbal, briefed the media on the extensive security measures.
“Elaborate security arrangements have been made for the counting day. Police teams from all divisions will be deployed at strategic locations,” Iqbal said.
Crucially, Section 144 CrPC will be in force around the counting premises, prohibiting the assembly of four or more people. Iqbal warned that strict action would be taken against any individual violating the law or ECI guidelines.
Access to the counting center will be strictly restricted. Only candidates, their designated election agents, and authorized counting agents with valid passes will be permitted entry.
