Employees Are True Brand Ambassadors, Says Minister Vivek at HR Summit
Hyderabad, Feb 26: Employees are the true brand ambassadors of any organisation, and progressive human resource policies are essential for improving productivity, said Labour, Employment, Mines and Geology Minister Dr. G. Vivek Venkatswamy on Thursday.
Addressing the 3rd HR Summit organised by ASSOCHAM at HICC Novotel, the Minister emphasised that employee satisfaction directly contributes to organisational performance and growth.
Dr. Vivek said participating in the summit felt like reconnecting with industry leaders, recalling his earlier tenure as President of CII. He also fondly remembered his father, veteran leader Kaka Venkatswamy, who served as Labour Minister in undivided Andhra Pradesh and later in the Union Government.
Reflecting on the evolution of human resources, he noted that HR departments once grappled with numerous challenges, including wage disputes and labour issues. In earlier times, HR was not considered a core function, but it has now transformed into one of the most critical wings of any organisation, he said.
“Ensuring employee welfare while achieving optimal productivity is the shared responsibility of management and HR professionals. Retaining skilled talent and improving output remain key challenges,” he observed.
Expressing hope that the summit would generate meaningful ideas to strengthen HR practices, the Minister highlighted the State Government’s focus on skill development across Telangana.
He said several old Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) are being upgraded into Advanced Training Centres (ATCs) with CSR support from the Tata group. Many of these centres are coming up in rural areas and are expected to become operational within a year.
Inviting HR leaders and industry representatives to recruit skilled youth trained at these centres, Dr. Vivek urged them to suggest new courses aligned with future industry requirements. He added that officials have been instructed to maintain close coordination with industries to ensure a synchronised approach to employment generation.
