Free Cancer Screening Camp Held for ESI Insured Persons in Hyderabad
Hyderabad, January 30:
A free cancer screening camp was organised for Insured Persons (IPs) by the Telangana State Employees’ State Insurance (ESI) Department in collaboration with Basavatarakam Indo-American Cancer Institute & Research Centre on Friday.
The camp was held at the ESI Hospital, Jeedimetla, under the guidance of Labour & Employment Minister Dr. G. Vivek Venkatswamy.
A total of 231 Insured Persons participated in the screening, including 154 women and 77 men. The camp was supervised by six oncology specialists from Basavatarakam Cancer Hospital along with ten doctors from the ESI Department.
As part of the screening, patients underwent various diagnostic tests such as X-ray, mammography, ultrasound sonography, Pap smear, and other relevant investigations.
Beneficiaries expressed satisfaction over the initiative and requested that such camps be organised more frequently.
Meanwhile, efforts are underway to formalise an agreement between the State ESI Department and Basavatarakam Cancer Institute to conduct free cancer screening camps for ESI Insured Persons across Telangana in the coming days.
