People’s Hardships Due to BRS Misrule, Says Vivek Venkatswamy

Dubbaka:
Criticising the previous BRS government for financial mismanagement and neglect of people’s issues, Labour, Employment and Mines Minister Gaddam Vivek Venkatswamy on Sunday said that the difficulties faced by the people of Telangana today are a direct consequence of the failures of the former regime, which pushed the state into massive debt while ignoring equitable development.

Addressing a gathering during the Dubbaka Municipal election campaign near the Double Bedroom Housing Complex, the Minister said the BRS government burdened the state with nearly ₹8 lakh crore debt, yet failed to provide even basic amenities to the common people. He said the recent protests by Mallanna Sagar displaced families stand as clear evidence of the injustice and neglect suffered by farmers and oustees under the previous rule.

Vivek Venkatswamy alleged that the BRS government cheated beneficiaries of the Double Bedroom housing scheme by constructing houses without issuing pattas, leaving thousands of families in uncertainty. He also criticised the local MLA for failing to address the long-pending issues of residents. The Minister assured that if Congress is strengthened in the municipality, pattas would be issued within 100 days, and all problems faced by residents of Double Bedroom colonies would be resolved.

Highlighting the welfare-driven governance of the Congress government, the Minister said new pensions are already being provided to eligible beneficiaries, reaffirming the party’s commitment to social security and inclusive growth. He urged voters to judge parties based on performance rather than empty promises, stating that while BRS sought votes by merely showing documents, Congress is bringing funds and delivering development on the ground.

Emphasising the importance of local self-governance, Vivek Venkatswamy said the all-round development of Dubbaka Municipality is possible only by electing Congress councillors. He assured that if Congress candidates are elected in all 20 municipal wards, he would make sincere efforts to secure Revenue Division status for Dubbaka, ensuring faster administrative services and accelerated development.

Senior Congress leaders, party workers and local residents participated in the campaign in large numbers.
