SCs must unite for justice in all spheres: Minister G. Vivek Venkatswamy
Hyderabad, March 12: Scheduled Castes in the state must remain united and continue their struggle for justice in every sphere of life, said Labour, Employment and Mines Minister G. Vivek Venkatswamy. He said the responsibility entrusted to Kavvampally Satyanarayana as the SC Cell Chairperson of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee is significant and expressed confidence that the opportunity would be utilised for the overall and all-round development of Scheduled Caste communities.
The Minister was speaking after attending the swearing-in ceremony of Kavvampally Satyanarayana, who assumed charge as TPCC SC Cell Chairperson, at Gandhi Bhavan on Thursday.
On the occasion, Dr. Vivek Venkatswamy said that Scheduled Castes should be provided opportunities in business, contracts and other sectors in proportion to their population. He emphasised that discrimination against Dalits can be eradicated only through equal and proportionate opportunities along with sustained financial empowerment.
The Minister said that he had recently urged Finance Minister Bhatti Vikramarka to allocate a proportionate budget for Scheduled Castes in the state budget.
Dr. Vivek Venkatswamy further stated that the Congress party remains committed to ensuring justice for Dalits. He called upon all SC leaders to work in unity and strive to secure greater representation for Dalits in various corporations and public institutions across the state.
